At Transform we are committed to training, recruiting and retaining the most talented teachers and future leaders in education to our member schools. Our School Direct programme is the very first step in that journey and we are proud of its success in identifying, nurturing and developing so many talented teachers since our first cohort of trainees graduated in 2013.
We have created a multifaceted programme with an outstanding team of school based mentors and practitioners that support our trainees throughout the year. In addition to this a fully embedded talent management programme is threaded through the programme to ensure that all aspects of personal and professional development are covered.
You can be assured that if you join the Transform School Direct programme we will help you to achieve your full potential.
We have asked some of our past trainees to share their journey here.
Applying to the Transform School Direct Programme
Our recruitment process is designed to ensure that we select the right candidates for this programme and it gives you the opportunity to see if school direct is the route for you. Throughout the year we host School Direct Open Days at our lead school, Sneinton C of E Primary. On these days you can observe classes in progress, meet with current trainees and members of our programme team to gain first hand experience of the programme. A tour of the school brings to life the hands-on nature of school based teacher training and to have the opportunity to ask questions directly with staff and trainees will help you decide if this is the route for you.
Should you need additional classroom experience, we are able to offer Primary Experience Days in one of our partner schools, where you will have the opportunity to observe classroom practice and inform your application. We have a full calendar of events, which is updated regularly. These sessions are very popular and with limited places we would encourage you to reserve a place sooner rather than later.
UCAS opens for 2018/2019 applications on Thursday 26th October 2017. To apply to the programme you will need to complete the online application via UCAS and identify Transform as your preferred training provider with the code 1E4.
If you are successful after the University of Nottingham first stage process, you will be invited to attend a two-day interview with Transform at one of our partner schools. For those applicants successfully completing a Transform Primary Experience placement, you will only have to attend a one-day interview.
Last year the recruitment window closed nationally early in February. We are therefore urging all potential trainees to submit their applications early. For further information and helpful advice to support your application download our Applicants’ Information Pack.
